Soccer Recap: Munford Comes Up Short

Munford entered their game against St. Benedict at Auburndale on Thursday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. Munford came up short against St. Benedict at Auburndale, falling 3-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Munford of the 5-4 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

This is the second loss in a row for Munford and nudges their season record down to 4-3-1. As for St. Benedict at Auburndale, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 6-2.

Munford will be up against University School of Jackson's rather soft defense (which has allowed 4.5 goals per match), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for St. Benedict at Auburndale, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Lakeland Preparatory at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Lakeland Preparatory will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something St. Benedict at Auburndale surely won't give up without a fight.
