Softball Recap: North Raleigh Christian Academy Takes a Loss

North Raleigh Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took an 11-8 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cardinal Gibbons Crusaders. The Knights were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Crusaders apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Ainsley Thomas stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: she scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Cora Harmsen, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

North Raleigh Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Cardinal Gibbons, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-4.

Looking ahead, North Raleigh Christian Academy will take on Providence Day at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Knights' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Chargers have averaged an impressive 9.6 runs per game this season. As for Cardinal Gibbons, they will venture away from home to challenge Broughton at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Crusaders will need to watch out since the Capitals have now posted at least ten runs in their last six contests.
