Basketball Game Preview: Kingsley-Pierson Panthers vs. Woodbury Central Wildcats

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Kingsley-Pierson Panthers face off against the Woodbury Central Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on Friday... Kingsley-Pierson will be strutting in after a win while Woodbury Central will be coming in after a loss.

Last Tuesday, it was close, but Kingsley-Pierson sidestepped Lawton-Bronson for a 40-38 victory.

Meanwhile, Woodbury Central suffered their biggest defeat since February 12, 2024 on Tuesday. They were outmatched by Odebolt Arthur Battle Creek Ida Grove and fell 71-44. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 257th, while the Falcons are ranked 78th).

Kingsley-Pierson's win bumped their record up to 6-8. As for Woodbury Central, they now have a losing record at 5-6.

Everything went Kingsley-Pierson's way against Woodbury Central when the teams last played back in January of 2024, as Kingsley-Pierson made off with a 53-31 victory. In that matchup, Kingsley-Pierson amassed a halftime lead of 36-12, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
