Basketball Recap: Manning Comes Up Short

Manning lost against Kingstree back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Manning Monarchs lost to the Kingstree Blazers on the road by a 34-16 margin. The game marked the Monarchs' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Kingstree's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Demia Mosley led the charge by going 6 of 13 on her way to 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Naydia Shaw, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 13 rebounds.

Manning's loss was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-4. As for Kingstree, their win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 8-2.

Manning won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Eau Claire at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Kingstree, they and Scott's Branch will face off at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. Kingstree is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57.5 points per game this season.
