Basketball Recap: Stuart W. Cramer Comes Up Short

Stuart W. Cramer played a tough contest on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by the South Point Red Raiders 96-61. The Storm have struggled against the Red Raiders recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

Despite the loss, Stuart W. Cramer still got an impressive performance from Makhi Brown, who went 7 for 9 en route to 15 points and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Darren Stowe, who posted seven points.

Leading South Point to victory were Jaishawn Woods and OB Lowery Jr.. Woods went 17 of 29 on his way to 39 points and five steals, while Lowery Jr. had 27 points and four steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which Woods has scored at least a third of South Point's points. Aidan Taylor was another key player, putting up eight points and nine boards.

Stuart W. Cramer's defeat dropped their record down to 7-14. As for South Point, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-9.

Stuart W. Cramer and South Point could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings. Stuart W. Cramer (ranked 453rd) will meet Crest (ranked 50th) at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Similarly, South Point will challenge Huss at 7:30 p.m. on Friday down 128 places (212 vs. 84).
