Basketball Recap: Ayersville Takes a Loss

Ayersville was the 47-34 winner over Kalida when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Ayersville Pilots fell 49-42 to the Kalida Wildcats on Monday. While losing is never fun, the Pilots can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 597th, while the Wildcats are ranked 193rd).

Ayersville has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season. As for Kalida, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-7.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ayersville will face off against Hicksville at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Ayersville is facing Hicksville at the right time seeing as Hicksville is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Kalida, they will challenge Leipsic at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.
