Football Game Preview: Blair Academy Bucs vs. Lawrenceville School Big Red

Blair Academy is preparing for their first league matchup of the season on Saturday. They are taking a road trip to challenge the Lawrenceville School Big Red at 1:30 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with three losses in a row, Blair Academy turned things around against Wyoming Seminary College Prep on Friday. They came out on top against the Blue Knights by a score of 28-18. Given the Bucs' advantage in MaxPreps' football rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 119th in New Jersey, while the Blue Knights are ranked 304th in Pennsylvania) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Lawrenceville School took their contest on Saturday with ease, bagging a 42-7 win over Kent School. The Big Red haven't had any issues with the Lions recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Blair Academy's record now sits at 2-4. As for Lawrenceville School, their record is now 4-2.

Blair Academy suffered a grim 27-7 defeat to Lawrenceville School in their previous meeting back in November of 2024. Thankfully for the Bucs, Mako Grant (who rushed for 164 yards and one touchdown while picking up 7.8 yards per carry, and also picked up 53 receiving yards) won't be suiting up this time.
