Softball Recap: Dayton Takes a Loss

Dayton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-3 heartbreaker at the hands of the Governor Livingston Highlanders. The Bulldogs were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Highlanders earlier this season, when they won 6-5.

Dayton's loss dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Governor Livingston, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season.

Dayton wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 2-0 defeat against Scotch Plains-Fanwood on the 24th. As for Governor Livingston, they have also already played their next matchup, a 10-0 win against Westfield on the 24th.
