Baseball Preview: Shawnee Indians vs. Coldwater Cavaliers

The Shawnee Indians will be playing in front of their home fans against the Coldwater Cavaliers at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Shawnee fell victim to Otsego and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They wound up on the wrong side of a tough 7-0 walloping at the hands of the Knights.

Shawnee saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kaden Fritchie, who went 2-for-2 with a double.

Even though they lost, Shawnee didn't let batters stay on the plate for long and finished the game with eight strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Otsego only tossed four.

Meanwhile, Coldwater gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Monday. They were the clear victor by a 13-3 margin over Benjamin Logan.

Shawnee might still be hurting after the 8-1 defeat they got from Coldwater when the teams last played back in March of 2023. Thankfully for Shawnee, Evan Harlamert (who struck out ten batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
