            Softball Recap: Bryan Station Defenders vs. Ballard Bruins        
        
		
        
        
            Bryan Station entered their  game against Ballard  on Thursday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Defenders fell just short of the Bruins by a score of  9-8.
 Karsyn Rockvoan spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered six earned  (and three unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up 15 Ks.
 On the hitting side,  Tiahna Bowman made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and  went 2-for-4 with one  home run, four  RBI,  and two  runs. Those  RBI were  her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of  Adrienn Arcure, who  went 1-for-2 with two  runs and one  RBI.
The  defeat was their first  at home , dropping their record down to 8-4. As for Ballard, they have  been performing  well recently as they've  won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-9 record  this season.
 Bryan Station will square off against Madison Central at 6:00  p.m.  on Friday. As for Ballard, they will look to defend their home field  on Friday against DuPont Manual  at 6:00  p.m. The Crimsons' pitching crew has only allowed 3.9  runs per game  this season, so the Bruins' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
