Basketball Game Preview: Fredericktown Freddies vs. Danville Blue Devils

The Fredericktown Freddies will head out to challenge the Danville Blue Devils at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Fredericktown is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.4 points per game this season.

On Tuesday, Fredericktown needed a bit of extra time to put away Loudonville. They came out on top against the Redbirds by a score of 61-54. The victory continues a trend for the Freddies in their matchups with the Redbirds: they've now won three in a row.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Fredericktown to victory, but perhaps none more so than Mya Bryant, who dropped a double-double with 18 points and 15 rebounds. Those 15 boards gave Bryant a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Gracyn Toombs, who shot 50% from the field to rack up 11 points along with eight rebounds and five assists.

Fredericktown smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in seven consecutive matchups dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, Danville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss dating back to last season. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 51-47 heartbreaker at the hands of Cardington-Lincoln.

Fredericktown's record is now 4-1. As for Danville, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-5.

Fredericktown strolled past Danville in their previous meeting back in January by a score of 56-38. Do the Freddies have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Blue Devils turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
