Basketball Recap: Erie Comes Up Short

Erie played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 79-31 loss at the hands of the Caney Valley Bullpups. The Red Devils haven't had much luck with the Bullpups recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Despite the loss, Erie still got an impressive performance from Jacksen Powell, who dropped a double-double with 17 points and ten boards. The dominant performance also gave Powell a new career-high in blocks (six).

Erie's defeat dropped their record down to 3-15. As for Caney Valley, their win bumped their record up to 10-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Erie will host Eureka on Monday. As for Caney Valley, they will square off against Fredonia on Tuesday. Caney Valley is facing Fredonia at the right time seeing as Fredonia is stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
