Softball Recap: Southwestern Heights Takes Down Goodland in a Playoff Battle

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Southwestern Heights walked away with it. They skirted past the Goodland Cowboys 2-1. Those two runs were actually the fewest the Mustangs have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

The win was the sixth in a row for Southwestern Heights, bringing their record up to 21-3. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games. As for Goodland, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-11.

Southwestern Heights wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 5-4 defeat against Colby on the 21st. Goodland does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
