Basketball Recap: Webber Snags Tenth Win in Last 11 Games

Webber won the last time they faced Wayne City and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Webber Trojans were the clear victor by a 63-43 margin over the Wayne City Indians. The Trojans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Webber to victory, but perhaps none more so than Waylon Jones, who posted 15 points. Another player making a difference was Jacob Marlow, who had 14 points.

Wayne City lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Rhyver Tibbs, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 13 boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Peyton Harrison, who put up ten points and four steals.

Webber has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 18-3 record this season. As for Wayne City, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-12.

Webber wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 73-51 defeat against Goreville on the 30th. As for Wayne City, they will venture away from home to square off against Edwards County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Wayne City is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.7 points per game this season.
