Soccer Game Preview: Poquoson vs. York

The Poquoson Islanders are taking a road trip to square off against the York Falcons at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Friday just wasn't the day for Poquoson's offense. They came up short against Jamestown on Friday, falling 4-0. The loss continues a trend for Poquoson in their meetings with Jamestown: they've now lost six in a row.

Meanwhile, York also failed to score in their most recent game. They lost 4-0 to Warhill on Friday. York have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

York now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Poquoson, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 6-1.

Poquoson skirted past York 1-0 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Islanders since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
