Basketball Game Preview: Jackson Vikings vs. Ypsilanti Grizzlies

The Jackson Vikings will head out to face off against the Ypsilanti Grizzlies at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Last Tuesday, Jackson came up short against Pinckney and fell 38-26. While losing is never fun, the Vikings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 435th, while the Pirates are ranked 170th).

Meanwhile, Ypsilanti was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 78-17 loss at the hands of Tecumseh.

Jackson dropped their record down to 2-11 with the loss, which was their sixth straight at home. As for Ypsilanti, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-8.

Jackson didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Ypsilanti when the teams last played back in February of 2024, but they still walked away with a 48-44 victory. Will Jackson repeat their success, or does Ypsilanti have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
