Baseball Preview: Gueydan Bears vs. South Cameron Tarpons
Gueydan is on a five-game streak of home losses, and South Cameron a five-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Saturday. The Gueydan Bears will look to defend their home field against the South Cameron Tarpons at 4:30 p.m. South Cameron took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Gueydan, who comes in off a win.
Gueydan is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on V.B. Glencoe Charter with a sharp 22-4 win on Friday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.
Joshua Mayer made a splash while hitting and pitching. He struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off six hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in February. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-5.
