Volleyball Recap: Fort Zumwalt North Comes Up Short

After flying high against Ritenour on Wednesday, Fort Zumwalt North came back down to earth. The Panthers came up short against the North Point Grizzlies on Thursday, falling 3-0. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Grizzlies apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

While Fort Zumwalt North ultimately came up short, they really made North Point work, particularly in the second set. The final score came out to 25-20, 29-27, 25-23.

Braden Wilson paced Fort Zumwalt North's offense, picking up ten kills. Wilson got some help from Hayden Orf and his ten assists. Wilson also made an impact serving: he shared the team lead in aces with Chase Martin, racking up four apiece.

Ryland Rauscher was a one-man wrecking crew For North Point. as he had 20 digs and two aces. That's the most digs Rauscher has posted over his last nine matchups.

Fort Zumwalt North's loss dropped their record down to 4-7-2. As for North Point, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-3.

Coincidentally, Fort Zumwalt North and North Point will both be playing Troy-Buchanan the next time they take the court. The Grizzlies will head out to face the Trojans at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, while the Panthers will head out to face them at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
