Baseball Recap: Anderson Takes a Loss

Anderson dropped down to 4-5 on Saturday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Connersville Spartans by a score of 9-7. The Indians were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Spartans apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2025.

Anderson saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kadyn Kendall, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Ke'Avon Burt also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

As for Connersville, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games.

On Connersville's side, Brody Shearer was a standout: he got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs and one RBI. That's the most runs Shearer has posted over his last ten matchups. Gavin Brannon was another key player, going 1-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Connersville beat Anderson by a score of 15-5 later that day.
