Wakeland is 9-1 against Centennial since October of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Wolverines will look to defend their home field against the Titans at 7:00 p.m. Wakeland is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.

Wakeland is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past McKinney North 52-24 on Friday. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 35-10.

Jayden Maples had another great game (as he tends to do), throwing for 409 yards and four touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes. That's the most passing yards he has posted since back in October of 2024. Grayson Myer did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 138 receiving yards.

Wakeland didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Lucas Mangham and Preston Lowery.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Centennial, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They walked away with a 16-7 win over Sherman on Friday. The score was all tied up 7-7 at the break, but the Titans were the (much) better team in the second half.

Wakeland's victory bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Centennial, their win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 3-2.

Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Wakeland has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 167.4 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Centennial struggles in that department as they've been averaging 189.6 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.
