Basketball Recap: Culver Community Takes a Loss

Culver Community and North Judson-San Pierre squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Culver Community had to settle for second. They took a 29-21 hit to the loss column at the hands of the North Judson-San Pierre Bluejays. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bluejays this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 39-34 back in December of 2024.

North Judson-San Pierre's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kyleigh Lehiy led the charge by putting up ten points in addition to five rebounds and four steals. Lehiy is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Avaree Johnston was another key player, earning five points.

Culver Community's loss dropped their record down to 16-9. As for North Judson-San Pierre, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 20-4.

Culver Community does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for North Judson-San Pierre, they have already played their next contest, a 62-35 defeat against Elkhart Christian Academy on the 8th.
