Santa Maria's Saul Rivera recorded the longest rushing play in 1A-1 Region IV District 16 this season in his game against Lasara last week. Rivera scampered for 58 yards on the play and finished with 67 on the day as his team bested the Lions.
La Villa added to the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Progreso, 40-14. This was the team's fourth consecutive win.
Ben Bolt's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Badgers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Ryan Galvan has thrown for 1,076 yards and 7 touchdowns this season, while Nick Gonzalez has 30 catches for 443 yards.
Santa Maria took down Lasara 62-14 last week, the largest margin of any game. Isai Garcia ran for 169 yards and caught 1 pass for 41 yards in the win.
