Basketball Recap: Solorio Sun Warriors vs. Kennedy Crusaders
Solorio was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were beaten by the Kennedy Crusaders 80-51. The Sun Warriors were not able to make up for their loss to the Crusaders from their previous meeting back in January of 2024.
Kennedy had a senior duo take command as Joseph Dahl dropped a double-double with 30 points and 11 boards and Jovani Naverette dropped a double-double with 20 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Naverette has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Aiden Rivera, who posted 13 points and three steals.
Solorio's defeat dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Kennedy, their win bumped their record up to 9-17.
Coming up, Solorio will take on South Shore International at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. South Shore International knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five matches -- so hopefully Solorio likes a good challenge. As for Kennedy, they will square off against West Chicago at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
