Soccer Game Preview: Wilson vs. Spruce

The Wilson Wildcats will challenge the Spruce Timberwolves at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Wilson has five straight victories, Spruce has nine straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the pitch.

Spruce better have a healthy lead at halftime, because if last week is any indication, that's when Wilson really gets things going. Wilson never let Samuell get on the board and left with a 3-0 win on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won six matchups by three goals or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Spruce came up short against West Mesquite on Tuesday and fell 3-1.

Wilson pushed their record up to 10-5 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those five games. As for Spruce, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-9.

Wilson took their win against Spruce in their previous matchup on February 3rd by a conclusive 8-0. Will Wilson repeat their success, or does Spruce have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
