Basketball Game Preview: Archbishop Hoban Knights vs. East

The Archbishop Hoban Knights will take on East in a tournament on Wednesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Archbishop Hoban took a loss when they played away from home last Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Saturday. They enjoyed a cozy 69-53 win over Midview. Given the Knights' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 35th, while the Middies are ranked 653rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, East didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Madison on Friday, but they still walked away with a 59-55 victory.

Archbishop Hoban's win was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 18-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.1 points over those games. As for East, their victory ended a 14-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-19.

Archbishop Hoban strolled past East in their previous matchup back in February of 2015 by a score of 61-45. Will Archbishop Hoban repeat their success, or does East have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
