Volleyball Recap: Steele Takes a Loss

Steele and Avon squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Steele had to settle for second. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eagles. The Comets haven't had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.

Kendal Dobbins paced Steele's offense, picking up 18 kills. Dobbins got some help from Callie Beckler and her 28 assists. Hayley Russell controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Among those leading the charge was Caroline Busold, who had 13 digs and two aces.

Steele's loss dropped their record down to 15-10. As for Avon, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 24-1.

As of now, neither Steele nor the Eagles have any future games scheduled.
