Basketball Recap: Noah Napier's Big Game Can't Quite Lead First Baptist Academy over Heritage Christian

If First Baptist Academy was riding high fresh off their 73-48 takedown of Waterloo last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The First Baptist Academy Eagles took an 83-70 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Heritage Christian Eagles on Friday. Even though they lost, First Baptist Academy's still made a splash on offense and bumped their average scoring up to 50.3 points per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).

First Baptist Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Noah Napier, who dropped a double-double on 31 points and 11 boards. The dominant performance also gave Napier a new career-high in steals (six). Another player making a difference was Timothy De La Rosa, who went 9 for 16 on his way to 24 points and three steals.

First Baptist Academy's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-12. As for Heritage Christian, the win keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.

First Baptist Academy will challenge Legacy Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Heritage Christian has already played their next matchup, a 63-42 victory against Gateway Christian on the 18th.
