Baseball Recap: Poynette Takes a Loss

Poynette was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 15-2 to the Portage Warriors. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Pumas of the 11-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Easton Ripp made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. That double marked the first that he has hit this season.

Poynette's loss dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Portage, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 6-3.

Coming up, Poynette will be playing at home against Lake Mills at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The game will give the Pumas their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Portage, they will face off against Baraboo at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
