Pendleton has gone 8-2 against Liberty recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Bulldogs will host the Red Devils at 7:15 p.m. The last three games Pendleton has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
On Tuesday, Pendleton had just enough and edged out Palmetto 6-5. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with the Mustangs recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.
Ayden Clay was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Clay was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with four RBI, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Cody Williams, who went 3-for-5 with two runs and one RBI. Barrett Reeves was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run.
Pendleton hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are 5-1 when they post two or more strikeouts.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 11 runs the game before, Liberty was a bit more limited in their game on Monday. They took a 4-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Chesnee. The Red Devils have struggled against the Eagles recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.
Liberty saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was T.J. Borow, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Pendleton pushed their record up to 13-10 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.0 runs over those games. As for Liberty, their loss dropped their record down to 12-11.
Pendleton beat Liberty 9-4 in their previous matchup back in March. Will the Bulldogs repeat their success, or do the Red Devils have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
