Baseball Recap: Seffner Christian's Run of Five Straight Victories Now Over

It was a good run, but Seffner Christian unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Santa Fe Catholic Hawks by a score of 6-5. If the Crusaders were looking for revenge after losing 13-5 to the Hawks when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Alejandro Hamana was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched five innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off nine hits. Those hits were his first of the season.

On the hitting side, Kris Colondres was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Kalab Williams, who went 1-for-2 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Even though they lost, Seffner Christian lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since back in February.

Seffner Christian's record is now 7-7. As for Santa Fe Catholic, they pushed their record up to 14-3 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.

Coming up, Seffner Christian will challenge Keswick Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Santa Fe Catholic, they will square off against Auburndale at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
