Basketball Recap: Onaga Comes Up Short

Onaga lost against Jackson Heights back in December of 2017 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The matchup between the Onaga Buffaloes and the Jackson Heights Cobras didn't end well, with the Onaga Buffaloes falling 63-48. The Buffaloes have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

When it comes to explaining why Onaga lost, don't look at Casen Hutfles. Despite the final result, he went 7 of 10 on his way to 21 points and six rebounds. The dominant performance gave Hutfles a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Koy Nider, who posted eight points.

Onaga's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Jackson Heights, with the win, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 1-3.

Onaga will head out to take on Linn at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday. As for Jackson Heights, they will host McLouth on Friday. Jackson Heights is facing McLouth at the right time seeing as McLouth is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
