Basketball Recap: Stevens Falcons vs. Warren Warriors
Stevens was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 12th straight loss. They were dealt an 87-17 defeat at the hands of the Warren Warriors. The Falcons lost against the Warriors in their previous head to head back in January, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 55-39 score last time.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Warren to victory, but perhaps none more so than Makayla Davis, who went 5 of 8 on her way to 12 points along with seven steals and five boards. Those seven steals gave Davis a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Aniyah Shields, who almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine boards.
Stevens' loss dropped their record down to 1-17. As for Warren, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 17-5.
Stevens will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Sotomayor at 7:00 p.m. Sotomayor is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.1 points per game this season. As for Warren, they will challenge Taft at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Warren also hasn't been messing around on offense: they've averaged 52.8 points per game.
