Animo Bunche suffers fifth straight loss on the road

The Animo Bunche Stallions's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Downtown Magnets, falling 72-21. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Animo Bunche in their matchups with Downtown Magnets: they've now lost six in a row.

Downtown Magnets' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Patrick Lei led the charge by scoring 15 points along with seven rebounds and seven steals. Lei hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Brayane Kuaka Luyeye, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 22 rebounds.

Animo Bunche bumped their record down to 3-8 with that loss, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Downtown Magnets, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 12-9 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Animo Bunche will take on Aspire Ollin at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in California (Aspire Ollin is ranked 1368th, while Animo Bunche is ranked 1363rd). As for Downtown Magnets, they the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Central City Value at 5:15 p.m. on January 16th. Hopefully Central City Value focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 29 on Friday.
