Volleyball Recap: Northside Christian Comes Up Short

If Northside Christian was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Indian Rocks Christian on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Mustangs lost 3-0 to the IMG Academy Royal Ascenders on Thursday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Ascenders this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 last Tuesday.

Aaliyah Cancellari paced Northside Christian's offense, picking up eight kills. Cancellari got some help from Elle Smith and her 25 assists.

Leading IMG Academy Royal to victory were Maria Otero Galan and Daniela Matznick. Otero Galan had nine digs, three aces, and one block, while Matznick had 18 digs and three aces. That's the most digs Otero Galan has posted since back in August.

Northside Christian's loss dropped their record down to 15-10. As for IMG Academy Royal, the victory (which was their 16th in a row) raised their record to 17-1.

As of now, neither Northside Christian nor the Ascenders have any future games scheduled.
