Last Friday, Moapa Valley was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 35-31 to Cedar. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Moapa Valley has scored all season.
Loss or not, Moapa Valley got some senior leadership from Andie Wood who scored ten points and Haylie Western who scored five points along with six rebounds. Savanna Burt was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Meanwhile, White Pine was just a bucket shy of victory on Tuesday and fell 30-29 to Lincoln County.
Moapa Valley's loss dropped their record down to 7-2. As for White Pine, their loss dropped their record down to 1-5.
Everything came up roses for Moapa Valley against White Pine in their previous meeting on December 1st as the team secured a 49-16 win. Will Moapa Valley repeat their success, or does White Pine have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
