Softball Recap: Lawrence County Starts Season with Win Against Brooks

Lawrence County took care of business in their home opener (barely) on Monday. They had just enough and edged the Brooks Lions out 11-10. This was payback for the Red Devils, who suffered a 6-3 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Ava Templeton and Alyce LouAllen did most of the damage at the plate: Templeton scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4, while LouAllen went 3-for-4 with four RBI. That's the most runs Templeton has posted since back in March of 2024. Alivia Terry was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

Lawrence County will have a chance to go back-to-back against Brooks: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
