Softball Recap: Oak Hill Extends Road Winning Streak to Five

Oak Hill came out on top against Southwood on Saturday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run third inning. The Golden Eagles put the hurt on the Knights with a sharp 10-3 victory. The result was nothing new for the Golden Eagles, who have now won eight matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Karsyn Wiley spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on five hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Ry-Ry Myers, who went 2-for-5 with two runs and two RBI. Those two RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Liz Godfrey, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Oak Hill was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .389. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in five consecutive contests.

Oak Hill's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-5. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.6 runs over those games. As for Southwood, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 13-8.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Oak Hill beat the Knights by a score of 4-3 later that day.
