Basketball Game Preview: The First Academy Royals vs. Master's Academy Eagles

The First Academy Royals will challenge the Master's Academy Eagles on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

The First Academy is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They claimed a resounding 84-53 victory over Faith Christian. Given the Royals' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 120th, while the Lions are ranked 242nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Master's Academy waltzed into their game on Wednesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top against the Green Wave by a score of 79-70.

Master's Academy's win was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 21-5. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.3 points per game. As for The First Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-7 record this season.

The First Academy didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Master's Academy when the teams last played back in February of 2021, but they still walked away with a 77-72 victory. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Master's Academy's Eduardo Placer, who went 8 for 17 en route to 32 points and five assists.
