Football Recap: Boston Ashe Key Part of Team Effort in Mustangs Win + How To Watch

Monte Vista Christian took a 20-point defeat the last time they faced off against Carlmont, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Mustangs had just enough and edged out the Scots 40-37. For the Mustangs, this counts as revenge for the 48-28 win the Scots walked away with the last time they faced one another back in September of 2024.

Monte Vista Christian's win on Saturday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Boston Ashe, who picked up 198 receiving yards and one TD. Ashe's longest reception was for an incredible 87 yards. Jordan Ramirez also helped out with an impressive 118 receiving yards.

Several Scots players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Austin Sotto, who picked up 176 receiving yards and a pair of scores. Another player making a difference was Brody Zirelli, who threw for 252 yards and three touchdowns.

The victory got Monte Vista Christian back to even at 1-1. As for Carlmont, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Monte Vista Christian will venture away from home to challenge Soledad at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Carlmont, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Sacred Heart Prep at 7:00 p.m. on the 26th.
