Basketball Game Preview: Sabine Pass Sharks vs. Big Sandy Wildcats

Sabine Pass hasn't had much luck against Big Sandy recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Sabine Pass Sharks are taking a road trip to face off against the Big Sandy Wildcats at 5:30 p.m.

Two weeks ago, Sabine Pass had to suffer through a 55-19 loss at the hands of Johnson Bayou. While losing is never fun, the Sharks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 1415th in Texas, while the Rebels are ranked 185th in Louisiana).

Meanwhile, Big Sandy escaped with a win on Saturday against Boles by the margin of a single free throw, 37-36.

Big Sandy's victory bumped their record up to 11-6. As for Sabine Pass, they now have a losing record at 3-4.

Sabine Pass was dealt a bruising 77-9 defeat at the hands of Big Sandy in their previous meeting back in January. Can Sabine Pass avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
