Football Game Preview: Jasper Wildcats vs. Castle Knights

The Jasper Wildcats will challenge the Castle Knights at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a five-game winning streak alive.

Jasper is headed into the contest after thoroughly thrashing Evansville Central: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Wildcats blew the Bears out of the water with a 47-12 final score. Considering the Wildcats have won three games by more than 34 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Castle had just enough and edged out Evansville Reitz 28-25 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Knights have posted against the Panthers since September 2, 2016.

Castle's win came from a few key players Jasper will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Carter Bobe, who picked up 151 receiving yards and three scores. Those three receiving touchdowns gave him a new career-high. Boden Morgan was another key player, throwing for 175 yards and three touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes.

Castle's victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Jasper, their win bumped their record up to an identical 5-1.

Jasper and Castle were almost perfectly matched up in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, but Jasper suffered an agonizing 14-13 loss. Thankfully for the Wildcats, Max Mccool (who rushed for 147 yards and one TD) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
