Volleyball Recap: North Central's Undefeated Season over After Five Games

After flying high against Pike last Thursday, North Central came back down to earth. The Panthers lost 3-0 to the Franklin Central Flashes on Friday. The match marked the first time this season in which the Panthers were not able to get on the board.

North Central might've come up short, but they didn't make it easy on Franklin Central: every set was decided by three points or less. The final score came out to 25-22, 26-24, 25-23.

Franklin Central's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Sang Lian, who had 20 assists and eight digs. Lian has been hot recently, having posted 12 or more assists the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Ti Khoeng, who had 12 digs and one assist.

Having lost for the first time this season, North Central fell to 4-1. As for Franklin Central, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-2.

Coming up, North Central is taking a road trip to square off against Traders Point Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Panthers are facing the Knights at the right time seeing as the Knights are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Franklin Central, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Southport at 7:30 p.m.
