Soccer Recap: Chippewa Takes a Loss

Chippewa was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Smithville Smithies. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Smithville this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 4-1 back in August.

Chippewa's loss dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Smithville, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-1-3.

Chippewa and Smithville could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings. The Chipps will challenge Norwayne at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday with a big rank disadvantage (428 vs. 200). Meanwhile, Smithville (ranked 243rd) will meet Central Christian (ranked 92nd) at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
