Basketball Game Preview: Inglewood Sentinels vs. Canyon Comanches

Having just played yesterday, the Inglewood Sentinels will jump right back in to play the Canyon Comanches at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Inglewood's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 22 matches.

On Friday, Inglewood didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Culver City, but they still walked away with a 80-74 victory.

Jason Crowe Jr and Parker Jefferson were among the main playmakers for Inglewood as the former went 13 of 32 on his way to 38 points in addition to seven rebounds and four steals and the latter dropped a double-double on 19 points and 18 boards. The game was Crowe Jr's 20th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Danaus Cockrell, who posted nine points.

Meanwhile, while it was all tied up 23-23 at halftime, Canyon was not quite Crean Lutheran's equal in the second half on Friday. They took a 62-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Saints. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Comanches came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 20th, while the Saints are ranked 170th).

Inglewood pushed their record up to 19-5 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 91.3 points per game. As for Canyon, they moved to 17-5 with that defeat, which also ended their five-game winning streak.

Inglewood came up short against Canyon in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, falling 80-70. Can Inglewood avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
