Baseball Game Preview: Skyline Eagles vs. Bountiful Redhawks

For the second straight game, Skyline will face off against Bountiful. The Eagles will venture away from home to challenge the Redhawks at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Skyline is coming into the game on a six-game losing streak.

Bountiful hit Skyline with a four-run fourth inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Eagles fell just short of the Redhawks by a score of 9-8.

For Bountiful's part, Tegan Barnes was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Barnes has become a key player for Bountiful: the team is 2-1 when he allows at most one hit, but 7-10 otherwise. Barnes was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two runs.

In other batting news, Graham Fuller was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Tait Caldwell, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI.

Bountiful was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .312 or higher in three consecutive contests.

Bountiful's record is now 9-11. As for Skyline, their loss dropped their record down to 6-15.
