Portola waltzed into their contest on Monday with 16 straight wins... but they left with 17. They came out on top against the Northwood Timberwolves by a score of 24-12. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 7-6 back in September.

Portola's win bumped their record up to 21-2. As for Northwood, they now have a losing record of 11-12.

Portola and Northwood should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. The Bulldogs will challenge Laguna Beach at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday with a big rank advantage (52 vs. 525). Meanwhile, Northwood (ranked 104th) will meet Sage Hill (ranked 345th) at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
