Basketball Recap: Grandview Beats Mullen for Their 13th Straight Victory

Grandview entered their tilt with Mullen on Thursday with 12 consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with 13. They blew past the Mullen Mustangs 59-39. The Wolves have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matches by 20 points or more this season.

Grandview's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Sienna Betts led the charge by dropping a double-double with 27 points and 18 boards. Betts has been hot for a while, having posted nine or more rebounds the last 42 times she's played. Ava Chang was another key player, going 9-for-12 to rack up 21 points and four steals.

Despite the defeat, Mullen saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Makenzie Jones posted 13 points and five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Tatum Jones, who put up ten points and five boards.

Grandview's win was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 19-3. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.4 points over those games. As for Mullen, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-9.
