Basketball Recap: Basehor-Linwood Takes a Loss

After flying high against Turner last Friday, Basehor-Linwood came back down to earth. The Basehor-Linwood Bobcats fell 63-51 to the Shawnee Heights Thunderbirds on Tuesday. The Bobcats haven't had much luck with the Thunderbirds recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Leading Shawnee Heights to victory were Jaret Sanchez and Deacon Pomeroy. Sanchez almost dropped a double-double with 19 points and nine boards, while Pomeroy posted 18 points and eight rebounds. The contest was Sanchez's 12th in a row with at least 15 points. Daquan Lee was another key player, putting up eight points and five boards.

Basehor-Linwood's defeat dropped their record down to 8-7. As for Shawnee Heights, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-3 record this season.

Basehor-Linwood didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 67-39 win against Seaman on the 21st. As for Shawnee Heights, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, an 85-33 victory against Turner on the 21st.
