Preview: Southmoore SaberCats vs. Choctaw Yellowjackets
After four games on the road, Southmoore is heading back home. They will take on the Choctaw Yellowjackets at 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday. Southmoore will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Oklahoma Rankings (they are ranked 66th, while Choctaw is ranked eighth).
Southmoore was handed a two-point loss in their last matchup, but they sure didn't let that happen against Ponca City on Tuesday. Southmoore breezed by Ponca City on the road to the tune of 75-38. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win Southmoore has managed all season.
Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Choctaw's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell 56-48 to Mustang.
Southmoore's win bumped their record up to 7-5. As for Choctaw, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-3.
Southmoore came up short against Choctaw in their previous meeting back in November of 2023, falling 73-61. Can Southmoore avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
