Hill City won the last time they faced Golden Plains, and Vincent Zohner did his part to make sure it happened again. The Hill City Ringnecks came out on top against the Golden Plains Bulldogs by a score of 48-41 on Tuesday thanks to Zohner, who dropped a double-double with 18 points and 14 boards. His afternoon made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 17 points.
Tyler Ashbaugh also deserves some recognition as he scored his first points of the season. Those four points gave him a new career-high.
Several Bulldogs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Dylan Wark, who went 10-for-21 to rack up 22 points and seven rebounds. Miguel Garcia was another key player, putting up six points and eight boards.
Hill City's win bumped their record up to 6-10. As for Golden Plains, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 13 contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season.
Hill City wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 71-70 defeat against Quinter on the 13th. As for Golden Plains, they and Northern Valley will meet in a dog eat dog contest at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
